Question / Help Weird Thing happening with my mic

Hello so I have been having trouble with recording my mic. The problem doesn't occur when i am playing minecraft. When I want to go record a steam game like COD, only the picture shows up but my mic doesn't record. I don't know why this is happening or why it is doing this but I would really like to be able to use this software for other games than minecraft.

you may need to disable exclusive mode on your mic. sounds like the program takes over the mic and doesn't allow it to pass to other apps.

Right click sound icon -> recording -> right click mic -> properties -> advanced -> uncheck "allow applications to take exclusive control of this device"

hopefully that fixes it for you. i also do this on the playback speakers as well to avoid any issues..

Thank you for the fast reply and I tried it but it didn't work I did a test recording with COD and my mic wouldn't record. Do you have any other suggestions??

i personally don't, but i know the devs keep tabs on this forum. so i'd recommend trying it again, then upload the log file (https://obsproject.com/forum/threads/problem-make-sure-to-post-a-log-and-or-crash-dump-howto.97/) and they can probably help u.

Okay so I did what you told me to do originally and it actually worked but after I close the game and reopen the game only my mic works and the picture doesn't pop up it is annoying me now but what I'm trying to do is reinstall it but in case of that not working tell me what I have to do to fix the picture.

so now just a black screen shows up if you close the game and reopen it? try deleting the game capture source in obs and readding it..see if that fixes it.
