i used to record videos on my old laptop had no issues whatsoever but i just upgraded to a new pc my gpu is an rtx 5080 my cpu is ryzen 7 9700x
and i lost 2 videos to this issue i am actually fuming right now dont know whats causing the issue i think it might be with an encoder overload issue or a gpu overload issue but i have no earthly idea why this is happening but the weird thing is the first video i recorded on my pc was a cyberpunk video with everything maxed out had no issues after that i updated obs and started having issues i dont know if the update bugged something or i did some wrong settings i am also using a plugin to record my gameplay and webcam separete but i dont think thats the issue cause i had the issue before the plugin just please i need someone to help me this is my log and my settings

Same here — upgraded to a beast of a PC (RTX 5080 / R7 9700X) and now I’m tearing my hair out over lost recordings.
Used to run OBS fine on my old laptop with way worse specs, so this is super frustrating.
First test video (Cyberpunk, max settings, no problem) worked great. Then after an OBS update? Boom — lost two full videos already
Tried:
  • Reinstalling OBS
  • Rolling back the update
  • Checking GPU usage (not spiking)
  • Testing without third-party plugins

1. HAGS - but you need it to generate DLSS frames
2. I definitely remember that OBS crashed from the encoder settings in Source Record, I don't remember exactly what caused the problems. In any case, you should check that the latest version of the plugin is installed.
3. Video card drivers. The latest NVIDIA drivers are a disaster, so update and do a clean install with DDU for the latest version.

Use MKV or fragmented mp4, these formats are error-resistant. Recordings will be saved if OBS crashes.
