So recently I just got OBS and set it up and changed the settings to what I wanted. I then tried to record a game called Dishonored. However, the game was had extremely low FPS, averaging around 10 and below. Normally, the game runs at a good 60-70 fps. But the performance dips tremendously while recording. I checked the video and it too had extremely low fps. I'm just wondering how to fix this, if possible. I have an i5 6600k processor as well as a Nvidia Gefore GTX 970 graphics card so it's in no way a bad computer. Maybe it's just the settings that I need to change. Help would be greatly appreciated.

I have a spec lower than yours and get ~180fps in Dishonored (1080p/high) while streaming at 720p/60fps, something is definitely wrong with your settings.

i also wanna note that I am recording gameplay, not livestreaming. Don't know if there are any major setting differences between the two but thought I'd let you know anyway.

With you recording, set your settings to match https://obsproject.com/forum/threads/how-to-make-high-quality-local-recordings.12600/ and set your x264 preset to ultrafast.
