dump files are openable in visual studio typically - they're meant for the developers. though with that stack trace I'm not entirely sure what I can do, it's so deep in the ATI driver modules that I might not be able to properly make use of it

I ended up trying to use it last night as I was trying to figure out what file you were talking about and it somehow started working again. I didn't do anything different and it was still broken even after the patch... I'll continue to use it, but how will I know it won't happen again in the future.

I was just streaming regularly (doing a 24 hour live stream) and it crashed on me... :P

I'd hate to be forced to use xsplit again

He asked for the log file, here is how you find it: viewtopic.php?f=5&t=97

Kk. Thank you. I didn't realize where it was. :P.

I did uninstall this morning though, as I tried again to use OBS last night to stream and it crashed on me. Figured after he said it might be too deep to find the problem reinstalling would be a good idea. I will test it out today to see if I still have problems. And let you all know what happens. Thank you very much though for all your help xD

Kk. Reinstalled, haven't tried streaming with it yet, but it did have all the logs still in file.

Ah, thank you kindly, I appreciate the log file. Hmm.. Do you think there's any way you could see if a particular source is causing it to happen for you?

Basically what happened and happens is, I started a year long stream challenge with OBS. About 5 hours into my stream OBS crashed on me without really giving me too much other than the crash log. Each time I restarted it, as soon as I hit start streaming, I am stuck at one scene. If I change scenes it re-crashes on me and shuts the client down with and gives me a crash log again.

It doens't what scene I try and change to, but each time I start it in "Start Streaming" it seems it's doomed to fail.

Preview stream does work and works fine. Adding new scenes and sources works fine. Have not tried just working through 1 scene and just stream through that one scene and just add tons of sources possibly.

I think it's the text. I'm not quite sure tho. Anytime text is up in a scene when I start it crashes. Anytime Text is up while I'm streaming it crashes eventually. Don't know if it'll crash without text. I'll find out and let yuo know.

Is it an actual crash with a crash log? Could you post the crash log, or a normal log, too?

Do you have any other background applications running, any other applications that record, any applications that create overlays on games, any applications that modify graphics in any way? Sometimes these strange sort of crashes can occur with conflicting apps, but at this point I'm just shooting into the dark and making guesses

It's ok I'm at a loss as well. Someone did suggest to use a earlier version of OBS thinking that might help, but I'm not sure at this point.

As for your question, I'll usually only have OBS, my game, Mozilla or Chrome open for Dashboard on Twitch, and possibly a windows file folder open nothing more.

One weird thing did happen to me the other day though, even though my net was fine, OBS and both Xsplit didn't want to start. I would start streaming and they would both disconnect me from my stream. OBS would just try and reconnect, while Xsplit would say check your upload speed basically. But the thing was my internet was fine, my connections were great, and I could still do anything else... I restarted my computer, my net, and even reinstalled, but it wasn't until I reinstalled OBS (After reinstalling xsplit first, sorry) that OBS was the first thing to work :P. It was weird because I didn't change anything past the things I've mentioned before hand, and why did OBS want to start and not xsplit?

I have gotten OBS to work atm, but I just can't use text scenes in my layout is all. I would love to be able to, I just don't know if it'll keep crashing my Stream :p.

I am having this problem, I tried to record SimCity 5, I had the scene and Source for SimCity 5 selected, then I hit ''Preview Stream'' (even though I am recording) and it had a black screen, so I remade the source and it worked, until 5 seconds later, SimCity 5 crashed and then I reopened it, OBS started to crash, so I went to record The Sims 2, I hit ''Preview Stream'', a black screen, recreated the source and attempted to record, and OBS crashed again
