Bug Report the KOTOR 2 Stream - Mad Flickering, black frames

KOTOR2: Window, 1600x900 ( https://www.google.nl/search?q=kotor+2+ ... e&ie=UTF-8 )
Capture: Window Capture, 1600x900 (should not be an issue for your PC).
Aero: Enabled (Window Capture is odd without Aero Enabled).

I find it a bit quirky that it would not actually be there to select if it was an actual window. Although that is not completely unheard of either.

Ultimate manmode solution: Running KOTOR2 inside of a windowed virtual machine (VMWare Player, for example) and Window Capturing that windowed VM.

wait, u mean I should set resolution to Something else? Kotor 2 is already at 1600 x 900
I tried the KOTOR 2 Window capture in Windowed (not Fullscreen)- same stuff, no game showing, all black.

Also, how do I run KOTOR 2 in VMWare?

Well, the same way you run it normally. ;) Just install a Windows inside of the VM, install DirectX, etc, etc, etc. to that virtual Windows, install Steam on that virtual Windows, install KOTOR2 in that virtual Windows and run KOTOR2... in that virtual Windows.

Anyhow... it is somewhat disappointing that Window Capture also shows nothing. :/

Hmmmpffff... almost makes me want to try for myself now. To help you of course.

Aaah, u mean Virtual Machine simulation? well, i Was hoping for some, u know, program to just capture and display the game itself, without having to simulate the whole OS and everything on it.....
is there some way to just, say, make all pixels on the screen go to some video player, and stream that player instead? Basically speaking, if I could just launch KOTOR II and make it show up in some window, like in VLC player- and then I use OBS to actually stream VLC player's window?

That is the very same solution, just a different approach. You would only run KOTOR inside of the VM. OBS would still be in the host OS and you would then capture the VM's window. Basically the same thing you are suggesting. Just with a VM instead of a media player. And no, there is no way to do what you're suggesting.

Ok, I see, because installing the whole new OS inside my current one is not an option, and I was thinking of hopefully sending fullscreen- pixels to other app, but fair enough.

In that case, my question is: What can I do to make Window capture work and capture KOTOR II?
UPDATE: I mean, make KOTOR II Streamed via Window Capture mode, with KOTOR II being fullscreen OR in a window?

No, you would install the new OS to the VM, not to your current host OS. All it does is take up some additional storage space, nothing more. You are not going to change anything dramatic about your host OS if you install a VM.

Anyhow...

... other ultimate solution: Disable CFX, if Catalyst Control Center allows for it. Not sure it does for a 6990 but it might.

*sigh* nope, Crossfire's Hard- coded since drivers 10.something for CCC, so its not disabling((
Well, Thanx for assistance Anyways, if anyone knows how to use Windowed capture mode with KOTOR II (fullscreen Or windowed- I dont Mind) pls tell me.
Also, I will just stream in Monitor capture for now, just wondering how I can make KOTOR II stay above the taskbar at the bottom (apart from moving taskbar to the top, lol)

I tried today, and couldn't reproduce this unfortunately. On my setup Game Capture actually worked rather flawlessly. For reference, my GPU is a GTX 670.

The solution is not in his settings, the issue is your graphics card. It is a dual GPU card. Game Capture will not work on it. SLI/CFX do not mix well with Game Capture. Simply as a result of how Game Capture works and how SLI/CFX work.

Settings in game or in OBS? I just used Game Capture, using the capture hotkey. In game settings all on max. Like Kharay, I suspect the key difference here is my single GPU vs your dual GPU.

Anyhow, AMD did NOT remove the ability to disable/enable CrossFireX. So, what you do is that you create 2 new application profiles in your Catalyst Control Center (Gaming -> 3D Application Settings -> Application Settings...Add... ). One for OBS and one for KOTOR2. At the very bottom of the options you should have the ability to enable/disable CrossFireX. For both OBS as well as for KOTOR2, make sure to disable CFX.

Or just disable it completely in the System Settings (just above Application Settings).

Then it simply must be disabled to toggle CFX on a dual GPU card. Anyhow... Windows 8 + Monitor Capture. Really can't think of anything else now.

I just looked at my card itself- its a 6970 Not 6990 for some reason...... Wth, I was sure I got 6990 Radeon, oh well
Anyways- is there a way to reenable the Crossfire section somehow? I dont see it anywhere, even in RadeonPro.
Or, can u send me what driver u are using?

but if its NOT a dual one, I would be able to Disable Xfire from CCC? I dont even have that option
Also, forgot to mention- I streamed the Batman AC without any Flickering, full screen, via game capture, no bugs, no lags.

If it is not a dual GPU card then that would explain the lack of CFX in CCC. Since there is no 2nd GPU, there is no reason to list CFX. And, you did mention Batman AC before. I am really at a loss right now, to be quite honest with you. The one difference between you and Krazy is that he is on an nVidia and you are on an AMD.

Could you send me that spare copy of KOTOR2 you have? I have an AMD as well (6870), I want to see if it's AMD specific, this problem.
