Question / Help Sudden encoding issues

Recently I've been getting the error saying Encoding is taking too long. Last time I streamed, I had no issues and could stream at 60 FPS@720p to twitch with ease.

But now all I see is that error and a black screen on my channel. No settings were ever changed, so what happened?

A log would be very helpful: https://obsproject.com/forum/threads/problem-make-sure-to-post-a-log-and-or-crash-dump-howto.97/

But it sounds like you have something installed that is using a considerable portion of your CPU power if it worked fine before. Give your PC a virus and malware scan, ctrl + alt + esc and see if there is a program taking up a lot of your CPU % that you don't recognise or that wasn't there before. Most of all give us a log to stare at, it's what we do best :)

Here's a few logs, sorry.
All of these are from today.

Also CPU load without OBS or a game running is ~5%

Just bumping this to post what solved my issue.

Apparently, there one one simple setting messing with my stream.

Under advanced, there's a checkbox that says " Disable encoding while previewing. And since previewing is now forced in my OBS when doing an actual stream, it was preventing it from being encoded.

Maybe not the exact reason, but I do know unchecking that box fixed it.
