Question / Help Streaming to Twitch - need help

Hello all,
I have an issue when streaming sometimes (mostly when streaming FPS's). My upload speed is 5-6 Mb/ps which is plenty enough. I have tried using different bitrate / buffer ranging from 2000-3500 but nothing seems to help. Basically the stream is laggy and lags my game. I use to have no problem streaming FPS's but until recently I can't because of the lag it causes me to have. I am uploading to the Central- Dallas server for Twitch because that is closest to me (Houston). If someone can help me please with any suggestions, that would be great.

-note any other game besides a FPS work perfectly. DayZ also works just fine.

in game lag/ rubberbanding and stream lagging/ choppy.

as soon as i turn it off, the rubberbanding goes away.

you might try changing the ingest server since theres some huge delay ... but that will not fix your "rubberbanding lagg" problem i'd say

hmm from the obs side of things everything looks pretty ok yea, you might also wanna check to just do a local file save instead of streaming, see if you still get the rubber banding, it could be you are stressing your upload a bit too much with the 3k bitrate which would explain such lags.

I use to be able to stream BF3 @ 3k bitrate no problems. It wasn't until recently that I've had these issues.

I'm going to try changing upload servers to see if that helps tonight, will report back.

If the stream is lagging on the viewer end, changing your ingest server won't help. The only thing that helps is to lower bitrate.

I dropped it as low as 2k last night and still had issues. 5-6mb/ps is plenty enough to do 3k. I know this because 1. I used to be able to, and 2. a buddy of mine uses 3k bitrate with the same upload speed as me.

If I am wrong please let me know. What would you suggest for a bitrate with 5-6mb/ps?

*EDIT- as a side note, I am streaming at a down-scaled resolution of 720p, which again, use to work fine.

It's not about how much you can upload, it's about how fast the video server can send the data to the viewer. The connection between the server and the viewer sometimes just can't handle the throughput required. Do note that the server you send your data TO and the server you get your data FROM are different, and use different routes. There really isn't very much you can do other than keep lowering bitrate.
