Hello! I am new to OBS and don't have that much streaming knowledge. I was wondering what is the most optimal settings for live streaming?

Specs
GPU: GeForce 760
CPU: Intel i5-4750 @ 3.20GHz 3.20 GHz
RAM: 8GB

Download Speed: 60
Upload Speed: 12

My plan is to stream to twitch.tv and I live in Colorado. I have been able to get HD recordings. But the stream is very choppy.

First, I would post your OBS log as to what you have now. you can find it under the help menu. by looking at your i5 I would not stream over 720@30fps to start unless you plan on using NVENC to which you could do 720@60fps.

It is a reputable source @R1CH is the one who made this awesome tool. This will help you ensure that your 12Mb/s is actually going to stream at least 2500kb/s or 3500kb/s depending on your settings and also the best ingest server to pick. closest/lowest ping isn't always the best. the quality is what matters.

that is not a full log. under the help menu, upload your log and copy the link here after you've started the stream and game, then stopped the stream.
 
also it does seem your connection is stalling, did you use the app i linked you to at first? Use it while nothing else is running to test and see where tue best place to stream to for you. Use the twitch ingest server with the highest quality tuats not to far from you
