Question / Help *solved* Odd issue with webcam c920

I am posting on behalf of my streaming frend.
She has:
i5 4690k
z97
8gig ram
GTX 770
10mb/s upload
NVENC codec, default preset
2500 Kb/s bitrate cbr
720p 30fps

The issues is strange. When she is playing a game, her camera on the scene is fine, no stuttering at all.

Then she swaps to a scene thats just a background image and the webcam, and then the camera starts to stutter a lot, and doesn't stop.

The camera is a global source, all that changes between scenes is that she changes the the size of it. No change in the actual camera res.

Changing the camera streaming resolution doesn't seem to help. 1080p 720p 360 all seem to stutter just as bad in this non game capture stream.

She can stream to file, on the same scene, and it's fine.

She says the camera is consistently smooth on her preview. So something is happening while the stream is processed.

Any ideas?

EDIT: Problem solved

The NVENC preset being used was indeed causing the issue. Using x264 did solve the issue, only though for games that had low cpu impact. CS:GO uses a lot of cpu power, and thus using x264 did cause the game to stutter.

Using NVENC High Performance did solve the issues of the webcam being laggy, but it is a lower quality image compared to x264.

Unfortunately there doesn't seem to be a perfect solution for this.

Run it through the analyzer at https://obsproject.com/analyzer and link it here as well.
Slower preset in use

You have changed the default preset to llhq. Using slower presets can result in late frames and high CPU usage / low FPS. You should only change the preset if you are sure you have the CPU power to spare.

Monitor capture detected

One of your scenes appears to be using monitor capture. Monitor capture is the slowest and least efficient method of capturing, and can cause FPS lag on both your stream and your game and will also cause problems capturing full-screen games. Consider using game capture or window capture instead (this does not apply to Windows 8).

Monitor capture with Aero enabled

You are using monitor capture with Aero enabled. This will cause severe performance degradation. If you absolutely must use monitor capture, disable Aero from video settings (this does not apply to Windows 8).

Hook conflict detected

Game capture detected a hook conflict but was unable to determine which application was responsible. Try closing any other applications that may be injecting into your game, such as FRAPS, D3DGear, MSI Afterburner, AMD Raptr / Gaming Evolved, Action!, TeamSpeak/Mumble Overlays or any other kind of FPS monitor or overlay program

She has the NVENC preset set to auto. Should she try changing that to like high performance or something>

Yep, switching the settings back to default would be a very good idea here... there are a lot of settings which are just.. bad.

Stuff like using the MP3 audio format, which is meant as a fallback; AAC is MUCH better. Likewise, no idea why she's using NVENC; her CPU should be able to swing x264 Veryfast just fine, which will look a lot better than NVENC at the same bitrate. Likewise, one scene appears to use Monitor Capture, and she is on Win7 which is a very bad idea (better to just Game Capture the DWM process if a Game or Window capture can't be used).

Frankly it looks like she may have followed a 'guide' written by someone who didn't really know what they were doing.
Also, any reason she isn't just posting here directly? It'd probably make the troubleshooting go faster.

Ahh i don't remember having her do mp3, tho I might have been unclear about that. I had her use NVENC because for me, in csgo, x264 makes the game slightly stuttery, whereas nvenc doesn't seem to impact it.
