I am posting on behalf of my streaming frend.
She has:
i5 4690k
z97
8gig ram
GTX 770
10mb/s upload
NVENC codec, default preset
2500 Kb/s bitrate cbr
720p 30fps
The issues is strange. When she is playing a game, her camera on the scene is fine, no stuttering at all.
Then she swaps to a scene thats just a background image and the webcam, and then the camera starts to stutter a lot, and doesn't stop.
The camera is a global source, all that changes between scenes is that she changes the the size of it. No change in the actual camera res.
Changing the camera streaming resolution doesn't seem to help. 1080p 720p 360 all seem to stutter just as bad in this non game capture stream.
She can stream to file, on the same scene, and it's fine.
She says the camera is consistently smooth on her preview. So something is happening while the stream is processed.
Any ideas?
EDIT: Problem solved
The NVENC preset being used was indeed causing the issue. Using x264 did solve the issue, only though for games that had low cpu impact. CS:GO uses a lot of cpu power, and thus using x264 did cause the game to stutter.
Using NVENC High Performance did solve the issues of the webcam being laggy, but it is a lower quality image compared to x264.
Unfortunately there doesn't seem to be a perfect solution for this.
