Question / Help Software doesn't record motion.

Greetings Everyone

OBJECTIVE: To use OBS simply to record screen activity. Will not be used for gaming. I want to do tutorials and lectures and record my screen and audio.

PROBLEM: After hitting the record button, the OBS software simply takes a screen shot of the window, but doesn't record any motion after that. It records the audio from my microphone very well. But it does not record any of the motion that I am doing.

SETTINGS: For the most part, everything is default. I'm not streaming and everything is recording to an .flv file. I can open the .flv in Adobe Media Player. However, my MAX BITRATE is 1000. My VIDEO ADAPTER is "AMD Radeon HD 6130 Graphics." My BASE RESOLUTION is 1280 x 768. FPS = 30.

SOURCES: Both MONITOR CAPTURE and WINDOWS CAPTURE

OPERATING SYSTEM: Windows 8

What am I doing wrong here? Any help would be appreciated. Thank you in advance. A sample file is attached.

As I suspected - your CPU cannot handle encoding at that resolution. It's a two-core 1.3ghz machine. It's one of the lowest end processors I've seen. I'm not sure if you'll be able to record/stream with it at all. You could use the smallest output resolution possible and possibly set the x264 CPU preset in advanced to superfast or ultrafast to minimize CPU usage, maybe play around with such settings.

However, if you want quality, I would really recommend upgrading your system. Just my humble advice though.
