Question / Help Snes emulation through OBS

Hello,

I go a problem with game capturing in OBS.
A few friends of mine made a game forum and i told them i had old consoles available to help them with streaming old school games.

I'm not very handy with computer settings etcetera, so thats why i am here.
I was experimenting a bit and found out that, when i capture in window mode the stream works fine.
The thing that annoys me is the outlines of the stream (black bars) so i tried to use the ''add game capture'' and wanted to stretch the game so it would be full screen.

But for some reason it gives me a black screen! I run OBS (32 bit).
Am i doing something wrong?

Knowing the emulator you're trying to use would be useful. Also remember that the SNES didn't run at 16:9 so you're always going to have black bars when streaming to a site like Twitch.

Im using ZSNES, aah okay that makes sense! will a border/skin solve the problem?

Game capture only works DX9/10/11 and OpenGL content, I don't think ZSNES uses any of those as it's pretty outdated these days so window capture is probably going to be your best bet. If you set your base resolution in OBS to a 16:9 resolution then yes, you can fill in the empty space with a border, skin, chat, webcam, etc.
