Re: [TOOL] Snaz / Stream pc time-countdown and more live 1.8

Works like a charm. Now it's a bit different size (1 640 139 bytes) and hash (14fc1c9c5cd34fb736bc2edb25d09bfe) and there's no problem with installing. Thanks!

BTW, have you ever thought about using PHP date() function format for formatting date/time output?
http://php.net/manual/en/function.date.php Just a thought, an idea to consider ;)

Thanks for you work!

And one more thing. Shouldn't default txt files be located somewhere more less prone to not being able to be written to? Like My Documents or AppData folders rather than application folder in "Program Files"? It's common rule for apps not to write to their own app location folder, I think.

It's a matter of access rights, portability, etc. Here are general rules which were build up since Windows 2000.
http://msdn.microsoft.com/en-us/library/ms995853.aspx For example OBS is doing great job by playing by those rules. All user related data is being stored in C:\Users\[username]\AppData\Roaming\OBS folder. This way another user can benefit from application having his own set of configuration and generated files. Keeping and changing things in Program Files application folder is soooo Windows 98 ;)

But nevertheless I still think your app is great and worth using. Keep my suggestions only as mere suggestions. Nothing more, nothing less.

Registered just to say thank you for this tool!

Just going to echo the request for pause on the timers (up and down)
Suggestion: Single tap = pause, double tap = reset. Not sure if that's easy or not to do on your end, but it's a thought.

Also I just did a fresh install and timers work fine, but I get an error in obs when trying to use the Line changer extended.

"Could not open: C:\Program Files (x86)\JimsApps\Snaz\TextFiles\LineChangerExt.txt"

When I open the directory it looks like it's simply not there. I tried manually making the file (which got rid of the error) but snaz did not accept my solution. Any thoughts?

If the file is not there Snaz should ask with a pop up if u want to recreate the file normally.

In any case if u want to make the xml file it should look like this :

Code:
<?xml version="1.0" encoding="utf-8"?>
<!--This file is generated by Snaz, u can make changes to this file, but keep the XML structure intact-->
<TextLines>
  <Line Active="True" Random="True" String="Line 1" />
  <Line Active="True" Random="True" String="Line 2" />
  <Line Active="True" Random="True" String="Line 3" />
  <Line Active="True" Random="True" String="Line 4 " />
</TextLines>

with something like <Line Active="True" Random="True" String="Line 4 " /> u add a textline. But this should only be used if u want to add like 100 lines or more in once.

The button with the <> icon on it should open the xml file immediately if it exists

---

Thanks for saying thanks ! Appreciate it

Ow man forgive me :) its kinda late here haha, u ar eon about the txt file itself :)

If the text file doesn't exist or is deleted snaz normally creates a new file on the flow for u.

U have the permissions to write a file inside program files, with the user account u are logged in?

Actually with that note, I ran snaz as admin and the file was created and recognized by snaz :)

Thanks for the quick reply, working like a charm.

Looks like chrono up does in fact pause when you stop. Although it stops displaying while stopped and you have to manually go into snaz to reset.

Not a deal breaker, but yeah. Would be a nice feature to work with. The timers on this project are what brought me... but everything else just kept me coming back. :D

The time that is displayed is the time of your system, so nope that is not possible.

Showing your timezone would be the best idea.
Something Like :

GMT +1 $h:$m:$s will show ex. GMT+1 15:01:02

for Am/Pm users

GMT +1 $h:$m:$s:$tt will show ex. GMT+1 03:01:02 PM

No worries, it's pretty simple go to my webpage on http://jimmyappelt.be/snaz/ scroll down and watch a video from a supporting user. U will have the basic idea behind the program and how to use it in a few minutes.

In any case, if u are still not sure how to use after watching the video ... some users or myself will find the time to help u out.

Jim

Nice, that helped and I have it working now, only question is, how can I make OBS not alias the text it outputs? Also, about the sound that plays when it counts down to 0, can I change that to my choosing? If so, how?

I'm not sure what u mean by that :o

As of this release the sound is hard coded. (U can't choose the sound for now)

Erm, I meant anti-alias. OBS adds a slight blur around fonts, I want hard pixel style with no blurring.

A customizable sound would be a nice feature to add, perhaps a selectable WAV or MP3 file.

If you get blur around fonts, you are not resizing them properly. Try not to resize fonts by grabbing them on the UI. Its better to resize them by changing the font size in properties directly

Will be available next update

Also streaming system info like CPU power, RAM used-available, amount of processes running, etc ... is planned for 1.9.0.0
