This happens with pretty much everything, but my girlfriend and I are playing Dungeons and Dragons Online as opposed to what I usually record, which is SNES or NES games via my TV as an extended screen so I can see the preview of OBS to make sure it works. I tried doing that and playing in 1080p, but recording had a lot of lag. Brought it down to 720p, same issue, not as bad. What I had to do was play it on my laptop (no second screen) in Windowed mode at 720p and it worked. I really want to play this in fullscreen mode, but a lot of times, be it monitor capture or window capture, it records a black screen and I have to end recording and start again, but if I'm in fullscreen mode, there's no way of knowing if it worked. I tried maximized window mode with window capture, but it didn't record the entire game screen. It's a really neat game, and I'd really like to go fullscreen with it if possible. Here are my specs and settings:
NVIDIA GeForce GT 555M
I'm also thinking of turning that up to 5k in hopes that I'll have a clearer recording even if I have to remain in windowed mode. If I just knew for sure I was recording every time, I could tweak the settings the way I want them, though suggestions are appreciated too.
EDIT: I should mention this is for encoding to an MP4 and not Twitch or anything.
