You need an X server as OBS needs the GUI. You can then control OBS remotely via SSH, VNC whatever you want.
How to use X server? Can I have GUI access from my PC to the remote Ubuntu Server that has OBS 19.0.2?
Thanks David. To clarify, I am just experimenting to stream remotely to Facebook or Youtube via RTMP. I thought RTMP does not need OpenGL, correct?
I have ffmpeg installed. The problem is when I try to start OBS, it is not starting because of OpenGL missing. How can I fix this?As has been said elsewhere, OBS itself does. If you want to just stream to YouTube with out doing any overlays or voice overs, or mixing of anytype. Then FFMPEG can handle that.
You need a GPU with at least OpenGL 3.2 support.
