Hi I’m new here and also quite new to OBS (although I learned quite a lot for the past few days). So please tell me when I’m doing something wrong here.

I’ve got a problem with the Replay Buffer:

I have set that when I press the hotkey, it should safe the past 20 seconds. Max memorie use is 512mb. I use a MacBook Pro mid 2015 with the extra AMD Radeon R9 M370X and a i7-4870HQ. However, it just keeps saving from the moment when I pushed the “start replay buffer” button. Therefore I got minutes of saved videos instead of the 20 seconds I have set. It sounds like a bug in OBS studio 27.0.1 (the version I’m using). Does anyone know if I can fix it, or can I report this to the developers, so it will be fixed in the next update?

This is how I do it:

  1. I starts obs
  2. Deleted the black screen source and add “display capture”
  3. I press “;” to start replay buffer.
  4. I wait a minute (approximately)
  5. I press “\” to safe
  6. It says that it’s saved
  7. I press “'” to stop replay buffer
  8. I close obs
  9. Now it should save the past 20 seconds right? Well in this case, I got a video of 1 minute and 53 seconds

Am I doing something wrong or is it bugged?

Thanks in advance!

I also made a short video to describe the problem. If there is still anything not clear, let me know!
