Random Slow Down Issue

Hey everyone,

After upgrading my system a few months ago, my PC randomly slows down for like 10 seconds and then resumes regular speed. OBS doesn't crash or anything, it just randomly slows down for like 10 seconds in random intervals. It can be every 2 hours or every 4 hours. I've tried a myriad of fixes like running OBS in administrator mode, launching it in windows compatibility mode, and other fixes, but this problem persists. I think I've narrowed down the issue to OBS since this problem doesn't happen unless it's open. I've also attached the logs to this post. Lastly, I'll leave my specs below if that helps. Thanks in advance for your help!

AMD Ryzen 9 9900x
Thermalright Assassin X120
ASRock AMD Radeon RX 6700 XT 12GB
Crucial Pro 32GB 6000MHz DDR5 Ram
MSI PRO B650M-A WiFi
XPG Core Reactor II Modular 1000w PSU
2.5TB SSD
4TB HDD 5400rpm
ASUS Prime AP201

You'll need to be more descriptive as to what is happening, "randomly slows down" doesn't really give much info. You also mention this is your entire PC and not just OBS?

When OBS is open, there's a chance for all the programs I have opened on my entire PC to momentarily slow down for about 10 seconds. By slow down, I mean all my games, windows open, mouse movement, keyboard presses, and everything reduces from 100% to 33% speed. This occurs in random intervals and after playing around extensively with settings, I believe OBS is causing this problem. I'll post a clip from my stream vod later when I find it. It's happened on stream several times.

If you're seeing issues outside of OBS then OBS is not the root cause, although it may be a trigger. Have task manager open and watch your resources next time this happens...if you see OBS maxing out anything then we can try to figure out what you may need to change but if that isn't that case then you'd need to reach out to more general tech support to see what may be happening. "After upgrading my system a few months ago" also implies this is not OBS itself.

The reason I believe this is an OBS issue is because this problem only occurs when OBS is running. I don't have this problem unless OBS is open. I'll have a task manager open to keep an eye on my hardware and report back.

The log file provided don't have any active session on it. Please do a test up until the issue is present (if more than one time happening the better) and then (after clicking stop) use the built in feature you'll find in Help menu and upload the current log file. While you are at it, also click on the Analyze button to help you fix common issues you have.
Copy and paste in here the URL to the log file.

Make sure to follow directions and recommendations on the analyzer and test again.
It may be possible the issue is caused by a third party plugin, so you need to test OBS without any plugin. For this you can use OBS in portable mode: https://obsproject.com/forum/resources/obs-and-obs-studio-portable-mode-on-windows.359/
Just add a scene and a source and test it.

It cloud also be an issue on the GPU driver. Or other drivers in the computer.

I wouldn't want to jump ahead until it is clear there is actually an issue with OBS to begin with ^^

Also even if testing without plugins was needed, safe mode works fine for this you do not need to set up any portable install.
