Question / Help Please report your OBS performance here

So, this is an idea I have been going over for a while now.

Basically, to help Jim, and the average user, I want to compile a database, which consists of basic info like GPU, CPU, RAM, and OBS settings, and the persons experience. This way, if someone asks hey, can I stream with my system, we have a better guide than the current estimator, and I think the estimator can be improved when using this data.

I think the format should be something like

Hardware config
CPU(Including Ghz and core count):
RAM:
GPU:
Operating system:

OBS config
Stream bit rate:
Streaming resolution(What you are actually sending to twitch):
Stream FPS:
X264 preset:
Custom X264 Commands:

Misc:

Are you streaming using OBS's game capture? If so, which game:
Are you using a capture card? If so, which one:
Have you had any issues with streaming so far(yes/no - explain):

I think establishing a baseline using this info would be easy enough, and the info is easy enough for anyone to read imo.

Thoughts?

The estimator already accounts for basic hardware capability. Everything else is up to the user's personal system configuration and what other applications/devices they might have installed. That's why the best answer to "How well can I stream?" is always going to be "Try it and see for yourself."

Streaming is just something that will always take some experimentation and effort on the side of the user if they want to maximize performance and quality. This particular section of the forums is for people to come and ask for advice/second opinions because performance and quality tweaking is pretty much always going to be done on a case by case basis.

So, feel free to do this if you like, just keep in mind the limited usefulness of trying to make a set of standards, especially if you are delving into the realm of custom x264 settings, which is a whole tangled mess in and of itself. There's a reason the estimator is pretty vague. It's only intended as a starting point.

Here is an example of my config when streaming BF4.

Hardware config
CPU(Including Ghz and core count): 4770k 8-core @ 4.2Ghz
RAM: 16GB
GPU: AMD 7970 reference

OBS config
Stream bit rate: 3500
Streaming resolution(What you are actually sending to twitch): 720p
Stream FPS: 30
X264 preset: Fast
Custom X264 Commands: opencl=true, threads=9

Misc:
Are you streaming using OBS's game capture? If so, which game: Battlefield 4
Are you using a capture card? If so, which one:
Have you had any issues with streaming so far(yes/no - explain):
Yes, I do lose about 10FPS, but im already playing the Game on ultra and its almost locked at 60, so not too much concern.

I realize all of this, I think it will just be a nice thing. Who knows, I might not even get any replies(most likely).
