Sorry i dont know where to post this so i have posted it in both help and bug report forums! please dont hate me.

Hey guys! I purchased a Logitech c615 cam for streaming about 2 weeks ago. Everything worked fine for the first week and then one night during the stream i suddenly began experiencing heavy FPS lag in game. After several days of troubleshooting I basically narrowed down the Webcam was causing CPU spikes in my System NT & Kernel system process. Whenever my webcam is ON, the NT & Kernel system process is somewhere between 2% - 10% CPU Usage. I have uninstalled and reinstalled drivers several times over. I even tried the webcam on an entirely different computer with completely different hardware and still the same problem. Any suggestions? could the webcam just be faulty? can the webcam be ok at first and then suddenly become faulty during use? Please help.

here is a log http://pastebin.com/qpShFsAq

Have you tried the webcam in a different USB port?

Have you tried lowering the webcam resolution to see how that affects things?

Yes sorry i should have been more specific with the steps i've taken. I have tried every usb port on two different computers, including both 2.0 and 3.0 ports. I have tried lowering the resolution and while it does reduce the lag slightly, the fps lag/stuttering persists. I have tried old and new drivers, and i tried reformatting my hard drive with a fresh install of windows with no luck.

When you say "old and new drivers" are you referring to USB drivers? Because that's another thing to consider investigating.

Old and new drivers for the webcam. I have all the latest updates for my motherboard. (im assuming the MSI website gave me the right drivers) I am also assuming the other computer i was experimenting on had the latest usb drivers.

Well first, use 1.5 downscale to make sure that's not also interfering with the results.

Here is a new log. With cam resolution at 800x600 . Also resolution downscale is at 1.5

one thing i noticed that is weirdd about the log is that OBS says i only have 4 gigz of ram when i most definitely have 8. i ran a memtest a couple days ago and everything checked out fine. not sure why it says only 4....

but anyways, When I just turn the cam on without OBS, the problem is still there so its not anything to do with OBS, so i guess that posting in this forum isn't really the right place to be... but seriously though thank you guys for helping! any other ideas?

The reason it only says 4GB of RAM is because you're running the 32bit version of OBS. The 64bit version should have been installed to C:\Program files\OBS

If the webcam is causing issues regardless of OBS, then yeah, it sounds like a webcam issue. :/
