Question / Help Pixelation when moving

Hello All,

I have just started streaming and set up my OBS as shown in quite a lot of guides, i am receiving alot of pixelation when i move in games. (Check my stream Vods to see it in action Twitch.tv/Mas0n_TV

My Upload speed is 10mb/s (note i am not dropping frames).

OBS Setup

X264 Encoder
2000 Bit Rate
Quality Balance 10
1080p 30fps
CBR enabled

Thanks for the help in advance.

When i downscale to 720p60 the quality isn't that good and still there is the pixelation. if you skip through some of the vods you will be able to see the difference of when i downscaled due to the quality changing

I said 720p30, not p60.

p60 needs somewhere between 50% and 100% more bitrate than p30 does.

well the thing is i can stream upto 3500 on my end but it seems to buffer for people (guessing its twitch end), so waht your saying is 720p30 with 2k bit rate will be good quality and smooth?

It should be.

It won't be as smooth as p60 would be, but the individual frames will likely end up looking better.
In order to get p60 effectively on twitch, you NEED partnership because of transcoding.

ok thanks for the help harold will test it tonight when im home, what bit rate is the max before partnership as i want to push quality but also make it viewable for all varities of internet

3500 is the strict maximum, but routing issues for viewers of non-partnered streams causes the effective maximum to be around 2000-2200.

downscaling and your preset.

A10 based systems typically can't stream and game at the same time due to the encoders being more optimized for intel.
