Question / Help OBS slows down Minecraft, even when not recording

I want to preface this by saying that i know very little about computers and even less about OBS. Whenever I have Minecraft and OBS running at the same time, Minecraft drops down to around 2-3 FPS. It seems that this only happens with Minecraft because i tried running it with Terraria and it didn't make a difference. https://obsproject.com/logs/ZY9vi-cwKqNzlD1u
 
OBS uses GPU resources for composition/rendering even when not recording. Your machine is well below suggested minimum specs for OBS and Minecraft is not particularly well optimized. This performance result is not surprising.
 
Would buying a better GPU solve the problem?

Just about any Nvidia GTX series card, even one as old as a 6xx or 7xx series, even used, would be better than just the integrated GPU you have.

An old GTX 660 would both do a better job at rendering your game, and provide you access to the NVENC encoder to reduce load on your CPU.
