OBS Recording Question

Is there any way to record 2 people at once, where both are at different locations using their own cameras?

We currently use Streamyard and it gives the ability to send a Link to join the recording or Stream and we can record ourselves discussing whatever and edit and post later. I do not see this option in OBS for windows, but we want to move over to OBS because of certain features it offers.

I do this with windows capture in OBS source.
However, when I capture the StreamYard window, the recording goes well UNTIL I change to another screen on my laptop to consult some Word notes. At the time of consulting the Word screen, the OBS screen goes black - ie, the screen of the two of us is not visible anymore in the recording, WHILE the source is Windows capture and NOT Display capture.

Could anyone explain why this is, and how to set it up in the right way?
