First: Do not suggest reinstalling it. I've done it 6 times now and it still does it.
I am sadly on version 32.0.2 because I thought it would fix the issue, low and behold it did not. I have 64GB of RAM, RTX3060(dont bully me, I'm broke) and a Ryzen 5 5600x.
Everything worked just fine until last night. I was supposed to stream, started the program and it froze. It worked just fine a few days prior to it. I started OBS, all of my docks went haywire, then it froze, then went non responding. I closed it out, started in safe mode and it kept doing it. Cancelled stream and uninstalled and reinstalled. Still did it. So I uninstalled and reinstalled again. Continued doing it. I took out my scene collection, still did it. Took out my profile. Still did it. Took out my copied settings folder and replaced it with the base one that comes with a fresh reinstall. Still did it.

I uninstalled some plugins, continued to do it.
I ran CCleaner and Malewarebyte incase something's rummaging my pc. Still does it.
I uninstalled and reinstalled 4 more times. Continues to do it.
I followed the Q&A's to the T, you guessed it. Still doing it.

The only time I can use it is if my pc has been fully restarted and OBS hasnt been opened on that restart. :) So now I have to restart my pc every time I want to use OBS. Cool.
I am tired. I am so tired of OBS continously managing to break eventho I am doing nothing to it. I am not changing to Meld, cause.. have you seen that? It's overcrowded as hell. So I am stuck with OBS or SLOBS, but SLOBS is a bunch of laggy bloatware... I am also on WIN10. I am not changing to 11. Not until I stop chickening out about installing tiny11.

I am aware about the missing files. The error has been there for years eventho I've fixed it about 20 times now.(see screenshots)

What i would do is to export both the profile and scene collection and then rename the folder
/users/you name /appdata/roaming/obs-studio which is where your last configuration is . It will make you start over next time you run obs, but you can import your saved profile and scene collection. I save old configurations by copying this folder as a backup. Be sure to just rename it because you might need to restore it in the future. be careful not to delete it, you would be very sorry if you lost all your work.

Of coarse if you are running portable then everything is in a different place. A good test is when you re-installed obs before, did you profile and scene collection go away, If they were still there after re-install, then you didn't have a virgin obs install.

Just my opinion

I also have a profile and scene collection called "reset" which is basically empty and use the a desktop shortcut to call obs with args telling it to start with the reset collections. Then after it restarts, I can always which to the real profile an scene collection

Don't know if this helps, but i have used the reset profile/scene collection to restart obs which won't restart.

Hey there!!! I did remove every single OBS file with each uninstall. Before I uninstalled, I did put my scene collection and profile + settings folder on two seperate USB drives and ejected them both from my pc. Wiped everything and virgin installed OBS. It still did it :/
Even on a portable virgin install with nothing left on my pc it continued this issue.

If it would at least send crash reports, I could show them to everyone.. but it doesnt :/ I have no idea what is happening or why it is happening...
