When I have the Elgato HD in the sources area and I attempt to Preview Stream, it crashes on me. I have been searching for a resolution to this problem but I am unable to. I tried the 32 bit version of OBS and it still crashes. Perhaps someone can help me figure this out?

Here is the error message:

This crash appears to have occured in the 'c:\program files (x86)\obs\plugins\dshowplugin.dll' module.

Was having a similar problem. In the properties for the Elgato device, I changed the resolution to a lower value (1280x720) and it was then able to properly preview it. You can then change it back to whatever resolution you want afterwards. This worked for me so maybe you are having the same problem.

Ive seen your post suggesting the same thing in other threads LtRoyalShrimp. When I did what you suggested it now has a "Invalid resolution" error. It then crashes. Ive also tried the 720 resolution in Elgato too =(
