OBS crashes (potentially browser dll?)

Hello everyone,

I am really lost. I updated my OBS and now it just crashes whenever I do anything in OBS, if I add a source it crashes, if I switch scenes it crashes, if I even attempt to close OBS, it throws the error/crash screen. Is it safe to post the logs? When I looked a bit more into it, it seems like the browser.dll is failing, how would I download/repair that file safely? Any and all help would be greatly appreciated. I don't want to quit streaming yet.

Same here for me, I'm doing some additional digging, this was my first search result.

I think I found a fix. Re-run the OBS installation.exe file. Then make sure to update your graphics card to the latest driver. For me personally, I ran an older version of the OBS install file and then updated it from there. I am testing it right now and it seems to be working. Fingers crossed.

I had gone so far as to update the permissions as outlined in this thread (https://obsproject.com/forum/thread...p-didnt-work-after-updating-to-obs-28.159343/) and while that delayed the time it took for obs to crash it still did with the same error.

It seems that installing from a fresh installer vs from the in-app update has helped tremendously (so far) - thank you!

I had the OBS Studio installed via Steam, I did the check local files and validate I have the latest Geforce drivers. After that no longer had the crash when I closed the software. I hope this helps someone else using the steam software.
