I am new to streaming and recording. I am having trouble capturing my Nintendo Switch through a Razer Ripsaw.
Everything is "almost" working but when I start to record or stream the OBS "preview" window won't keep up.

After awhile the preview will just go static, a sort of historical pause of the capture.

I thought that that would't matter but when I check the videos of my recordings they look exactly as what I saw in the preview box.

I don't know what to do. So what I am asking are these questions: what am I supposed to do in the settings to optimize the program for my computer? What can I do to manage the video capture quality so it will be less strenuous on my pc?

Turn these two settings off. Update Windows 10 to the newest build.

11:57:55.751: Output 'simple_file_output': Total drawn frames: 7859 (8638 attempted)
11:57:55.751: Output 'simple_file_output': Number of lagged frames due to rendering lag/stalls: 779 (9.0%)
11:57:55.752: ==== Recording Stop ================================================
11:57:55.753: Video stopped, number of skipped frames due to encoding lag: 1553/8634 (18.0%)

Your encoder is overloaded. try switch to x264 encoding or reducing resolution.

Are your Ripsaw drivers up to date?

After doing those things, please run the stream or recording for 5 minutes then export the logs so we can see the changes.

As of March 2019, as long as you're running 1809 or higher and have the latest Windows updates installed, it is now recommended to leave Game Mode enabled.

Those two things are not game mode. Game bar and dvr interfere with OBS. Game dvr can take up one of the two nvenc encoding threads allowing for easier overloading of the encoder. Same thing with Nvidia Shadowplay. All of this is specifically mentioned on the page you linked.
