Question / Help New to OBS, Crashing when previewing game capture from device

Title says it all. I've successfully created scenes, added a webcam, and added a capture device (I'm using and Elgato capture card). However, whenever I try to preview my "game capture" OBS crashes- here is the crash report, sorry for the length.

OBS has encountered an unhandled exception and has terminated. If you are able to
reproduce this crash, please submit this crash report on the forums at
http://www.obsproject.com/ - include the contents of this crash log and the
minidump .dmp file (if available) as well as your regular OBS log files and
a description of what you were doing at the time of the crash.

This crash appears to have occured in the 'c:\program files (x86)\obs\plugins\dshowplugin.dll' module.

Make sure the software from Elgato isnt running at the same time. also, the proper method of capturing is in the log:
usings video capture device and pointing it to the HD60, not game capture with the "GameCapture.exe" program

make a new scene, make a new source and make it a video capture device select HD60 from the dropdown menu.
some people think you need to make a game capture and set it to the gamecapture.exe program from Elgato.
