Hello friends,

I'm looking to stream dota 2 but one problem I've been having is when I stream the in game is always lagging for me. Its a very slight lag and it feels like I'm playing with high ping or something.. its unnoticeable for viewers but for me it makes it difficult to play at my best. I've been told that its my graphics card but to make sure can u guys suggest me the best settings? Also at the end suggest the cheapest and graphics card I can get to work if it doesn't with what I have? I'm thinking of getting a 650TI which is the same brand but let me know !

here's my info: (any additional info needed let me know I'll add)
intel core i7-2600k
8gb ram
windows 7 64 bit
nvidia geforce gtx 550 ti

If you're getting high ping, that means your stream and the game are competing too much for your internet connection. First try enabling "Minimize Network Impact" in Broadcast Settings, and if that still doesn't help, try lowering the bit rate that you are streaming at.

no no I don't have high ping.. my ping is fine but the lag I'm getting FEELS like its high ping.. like I feel like the game motion is a bit slower and its not as smooth.

Well, OBS seems to be performing OK, so it sounds like you're just not used to the performance impact that streaming adds. I see you had a session in your log where you lowered your resolution to 864p...was that any better? Lower resolution can help alleviate encoding load, and 864p and 720p still look really good.

Also, as a side note, your audio bit rate is too high for Twitch. They want to you go no higher than 160kbps, so make sure you fix that, too.

nah it wasn't any better I tried everything and it still feels choppy and laggy. It's just not the same when I stream and I play theirs always this choppiness

If you have a motherboard that supports QuickSync, you might want to try that out, as it removes pretty much all encoding load from your CPU at the cost of a small hit to quality. Otherwise, the best way to remove encoding load is to get a second computer dedicated to encoding, and a capture card to capture your gaming computer's output.
