Question / Help Microphone problems!

Hey I'm just starting to use OBS and a friend helped me with it yesterday. My microphone was working fine, until today. I forgot what error it gave me when starting up OBS (I did it without my mic plugged in) and then afterwords my mic wouldn't create sound through the preview. Generally speaking though I do see levels and they're not soft levels either. I tried turning up my microphone levels (both in OBS and on my PC) as well as turning down my game levels (on OBS), however no microphone sound will produce (but the levels are seen fine).

I tried testing my mic on skype and in the preview settings of windows and it works perfectly.

I don't have the crashlog anymore, I didn't save it on accident. I'm using the 32 bit OBS and an Elgato Gamecapture HD. My microphone is a wired Turtle Beach Headset, and it was set to Realtek Microphone (as that's what my turtle beach uses while on the PC)

Any and all help will be appreciated! Thank you!

Says that the device is unplugged. Perhaps try plugging it in to a different port, and then reselect it in audio settings?

Same deal, mic shows up the same, I see levels, but I can't hear a thing I say (Game audio is just fine). Mic's turned up to max on OBS and I'm on the PS3 homescreen so no game audio is interfering. It sounds + works perfectly fine in preview for the Gamecapture HD software, Audacity, and the sound test in the windows sound options for both ports I've tried.

EDIT: Oh wait, is the mic not suppose to show through preview? I tried a test recording and it worked fine.

Oh, if you recorded a test and it worked fine, then looks like just a bit of confusion. I wish more people would do test recordings like that, you'd be surprised at how often this sort of thing can happen
