Is there a way to exclude certain audio tracks from desktop audio while simultaneously recording them separately?

This is a bit convoluted so I'm not sure there's a way to do this. But basically, I have my desktop audio and then my chrome audio on separate tracks. The problem with that is that my desktop audio track also picks up my chrome audio, which I don't want it to. I know I can forget about using desktop audio and just create tracks for whatever application I'm recording, but that would require me to create an audio track for every single application or game I have that I might record. So I'm wondering if there's a way to exclude or mute the chrome audio on my desktop track, but then also record the chrome audio on a separate track. Or if you have a better solution that I'm overlooking that would also be appreciated.

Just an idea, but I don't know if it works. Try muting Chrome on the Windows Audio Mixer. Maybe it only applies to the desktop audio and the capturing of Chrome still works.

No, this isn't required. OBS is an audio mixer. You can mix all your separately captured application audio sources into the same track in Advanced Audio Properties. Just check all these audio sources on the same track. You don't need to capture your desktop audio at all - capture all your audio separately and use the OBS mixer to mix, not Windows.
