Question / Help How Can I Improve Video Quality?

So I switched from FRAPS to OBS a couple of weeks ago since FRAPS doesn't support wireless headsets. However, I'm having a hard time getting OBS set up to where I can capture quality videos to upload to my YouTube Channel.

A Link to one of my videos.

I'm looking for at least 720p quality with no choppiness or the fuzziness or whatever else is going on in that video that's making it less than stellar.

My System Specs:
Windows 7
1 TB HD
8 GB of RAM
NVIDIA GeForce GTX 550Ti

If possible, please include an OBS log file. https://obsproject.com/forum/threads/problem-make-sure-to-post-a-log-and-or-crash-dump-howto.97/

For highest quality local recordings, this is the guide to use: https://obsproject.com/forum/threads/how-to-make-high-quality-local-recordings.12600/

If you want lower file size yet still quite high quality, you can also just turn off CBR, set bitrate to something like 8000, then use "crf=18" (without quotes) in 'custom x264 settings' in advanced. Gets great results every time for me personally.

Definitely bad settings for recording. Make sure to try what we had suggested.
