Question / Help Horrible microphone noise. Microphone noise gate problems

I have quite a cheap headset (Turtle Beach P11) and on OBS I get a lot of background noise.
In the microphone noise gate configurator, there is no observable difference in audio threshhold when I'm talking and when I'm quiet.

The only software I'm having this problem with is OBS actually. For example: I can perfectly tune the settings in mumble to remove any noise.

Can anyone suggest me a fix or is this a problem that can only be solved by buying a better microphone?

Dont run the USB power from the motherboard. Use a USB power adapter. your USB has noise so, in turn, so does OBS. mumble is nice like that but you need to take care of the physical issue first.

I have a 3.5mm audio jack for the headset sound and a usb connection.
So I guess that the microphone sound gets send over usb?
Because of this, I believe plugging the usb into a power adapter isn't an option :/

Try another USB port, preferably on the rear OR you could have a powered hub that could help a bit as an alternative.
