Hello
I am using OBS to stream Combat Arms and for some reasons (I don't know why) I cannot stream the game alone with OBS and I also have to use Dxtory so, I am streaming Combat Arms using OBS+Dxtory
I have tried in many ways to improve my streaming quality.
At first I had windows 7 64bit and I tought that my stream wont pass 30 fps because of the secondary program (dxtory) wich is eating a lot of resources (thats what I tought) so I switched to windows 8 64bit due to some posts online that told that I can stream Combat Arms only with OBS in windows 8 (without Dxtory). It didn't work. Well, actually I managed to stream using monitor capture but that's it and the results were the same as using dxtory.
Eighter of this settings I am using, the result is exactly the same !!! 30 fps in stream and 30 fps in game
1) Game settings 1920x1080 + low quality (detail). OBS settings: Video: 1920x1080 @ 30 fps -> the result is 30fps in stream and 30 fps in game.
2) Game settings 1920x1080 + low quality (detail). OBS settings: Video: 1280x720 @ 30/60 fps -> the result is 30fps in stream and 30 fps in game.
3) Game settings 1920x1080 + low quality (detail). OBS settings: Video: 852x480 @ 30/60 fps -> the result is 30fps in stream and 30 fps in game.
4) Game settings 1280x720 + low quality (detail). OBS settings: Video: 1280x720 @ 60 fps -> the result is 30fps in stream and 30 fps in game.
5) Game settings 800x600 + low quality (detail). OBS settings: Video: 852x480 @ 30/60 fps -> the result is 30fps in stream and 30 fps in game.
I have used the same settings for all of the above:
Encoder: x264
Max bit rate: 1800 (speedtest, my upload is 130 mbs)
Video. Filter: Bilinear (Fastest)
Checked: Use Multithreading Optimizations
Process Priority class: Normal
x264 CPU Preset: veryfast
basicly is all on default except for video and encoding.
My dxtory settings doesn't influente the stream fps (mabye a drop of 3 or 4 fps) But I always put the same settings on dxtory as OBS.
Internet speed: 950 mbs download 130 mbs upload
CPU specs:
i7-2600k @ 4.2 GHz
MSI Lightning HD 6970 @ 980 Mhz (core) , 2 GB GDDR5, Memory freq 5500
16 GB Ram corsair DDR3 @1600 Mhz
All installed on 2 SSD's @ 128 GB and 60 GB
Could you please help me ??
Combat arms doesn't require many resources. At the best quality possible without streaming I have between 230-300 FPS. Only when I stream I have 30 fps
I also use AVG PC Tuneup for best optimization (turbo) and switched in task manager the programs (tha game and obs) priority to realtime.
