Hello everyone. I would like some assistance with OBS settings please regarding good quality for streaming on twitch.tv. My computer settings are as follows :

CPU - i5-3570k OC'd to 4.1

RAM - 16 Gigs at 1600

GPU - EVGA 660 OC'd

I have about 40 to 50 Mbs Download and about 5 upload.

When I stream on twitch, it never looks good. It lags quite a lot. I have my bit rate to 3500, Im not sure if thats good or bad. The x264 setting has me confused. I dont see why I cant put it on medium. I have i pretty beastly computer. Could anyone go step by step with me to help get to a good level with streaming please ? thank you

I would recommend to downscale to 720p to increase the quality. Your settings so far are ok. But 3000kbit for 1080p and playing games like WoW just wont look good at all. And with 4000, your viewers will have problems watching it without buffering.
So keep bitrate at 3000, downscale to 720p and if possible and your cpu can do it, keep the preset at faster.

Would that work with this internet ? What do I need to do to be able to run at higher Bitrate and at 1080p. Also, If I downscale it to 720, what Filter do i use ?

The point is not really what your internet can handle, but what Twitch allows, and how many viewers will actually be able to accept such a high bitrate. Even 3000 bitrate is asking for trouble, but like Jac0r said, downscaling to 720p and lowering CPU preset can help you get a very good image quality at a lower bitrate.

Downscale filter is entirely personal preference.
