Hello OBS users, I'm stupid.
I can't figure out how to get my OBS to record Hearthstone. There are kids on youtube making tutorials on how to accomplish this, and I still get get it right even with my settings mirroring theirs (whoever I'm watching).
I set my hotkey to F1 (record) F2 (stop)
Under Broadcast settings I have: Mode/File Output Only ; File Path: Desktop
When I have it running while Hearthstone is up I have both windows minimized so I can see. The audio levels are responding and bumping to the music to the beat. So I know OBS is at least hearing it.
The odd thing is little mp4 files start to multiply every 5 to 10 seconds, they're all black black screen.
The preview window stays black (Whoa it's recording right now as I type this and I haven't even hit "start recording" or the hot key).
0kb/s continus to go green, then it fluctuates back and forth between black, green, and the kbs goes between 1097 and 1098.
I can imagine all of you reading face palming right now.
