Hello. So i'm just wondering if i'm doing something wrong when streamin because for some reason i get somewhat big fps drop when i play a game. Especialy when i use a webcam and i can't see why it would take so much more resources to have a webcam on the stream. So just wondering if theres something i can do to make my games work easier (mainly cs:go) i've also tried lowering the resolution of the webcam but doesnt seem to do much.

Most important obs settings:
Bitrate 3.5k
x264 CPU Preset: Faster
Encoding profile: Main
Process priority class: Normal
Resolution: 1280x720
fps 60(for the smoothnes of stream)
cbr on
use cfr is on

My computer specs

Cpu : Amd fx-8350 4ghz black edition
Gpu: Gigabyte r9 280x oc edition
8 gigabytes of ram
Hard drives:
1. Kingston hyperx 3k 120gb ssd
2. Seagate 2tb sshd(somekind of hybrid hard drive?)
3. Not even sure but there is a third one :D
Windows 7 64bit
Webcam: logitech c270

Just looking at random threads and saw this "Not run at full resolution". What do you mean by that?

I think he meant that it's usefull not to run your webcam on its full resolution when you stream. You can change your webcams resolution on obs so yeah.

Yea for example, using a webcam on fullHD resolution can eat up quite some ressources in the background and on a slow usb port it might even affect other components connected over usb. And if you only show a small overlay on your stream, and barely sometimes a fullscreen view of your cam, it would be often enough to run it at a lower resolution.
At the same time you often get the benefit of a higher framerate in lower resolutions which can also sometimes look better :)

Ahh, I have a greenscreen, so I use the highest res possible, which is 1080p30.

Hmm, in the log the resolution is still on 1280x720 and you are using 60fps. Also the tests are too short to really say anything about the results. It looks like you have quite some late/duplicate frames still, after switching to veryfast, so lowering to 30fps or decreasing the resolution might be necessary.

Those logs included at least one or two longer tests. But you still got quite some duplicated/late frames. I would still recommend to try 30 fps or a lower resolution. There is not really anything else you can do apart of upgrading to a better system or lowering the settings to get a smoother stream and gaming experience.

You had one slow scene change in one of the logs, if you add your webcam as a global source you can often fix this.

Hmh okay.. And well the low fps doesnt occur in every game but like in certain games. If i ever get to low enough fps i'll just get rid of my webcam to boost it littlebit :) But well thank you for your help !
