Question / Help Getting Started- Blackmagic card, thunderbolt chassis, macbook pro

Hi all,

Hoping for some advice (as I'm more an audio person than a video person). I'd like to stream video captured via Blackmagic Decklink card. I know this card is working properly, as I can see/hear my embedded video via Blackmagic Media Express software. However, when I add a video capture device in OBS, the Decklink is not an option that appears in the device dropdown menu (as I've seen it when this card was installed in a Mac Pro tower). I'm using a MacBook Pro (OS X 10.13.2) with the Decklink card installed in a thunderbolt magma chassis. The only video capture device I see is "Facetime". Blackmagic audio is, however, an option in my audio sources, and that is working properly.

Will I be able to get this to work? Do I need some sort of driver I don't have already? Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Try adding it as a BlackMagic Device source and not a video capture source. This source type is specifically for Decklink cards.

Ah thank you. How do I do that? That doesn't show up as an option (see attached)

Can you post a log? In version 23.2 on MacOS 10.13, I have "BlackMagic Device" as a potential source type.

I assume you have installed BlackMagic's own driver software.
