Question / Help File Type..?

When I record, the file saves as a .flv file and I cannot view it. I've searched to see where I can change it, but nothing has come up. Any help? Thanks
 
I used VLC, and it worked. BUT, I have all my settings cranked up for recording but the video (put through VLC) looked really bad. Pixels everywhere. Do I have to change some settings in VLC or OBS?
