Before someone says that it is because of my possessor and ram it is not
AMD FX-4300
Ram: 8 gig
Operating system is Windows 7 Pro

I am having a problem with my elgato when i start the preview it lags really slow and frame skips. I tried this on Xsplit and it worked just fine. I do not know what the problem is and from the looks of it, it looks like this is the first time this has happened with OBS and Elgato.
Please if someone could halp me that would be great!
Thanks

Could you show is a log of this? Do you have 'Use buffering' enabled in the elgato source properties? (at 0). It needs to be on.

As Jim said, please make sure "Use buffering" is enabled and set to 0 in the Game Capture HD source properties. Is OBS Giving you a "Warning: Taking too long to encode" error at the bottom when the preview starts skipping?

I do not have the "Use Buffering" wnabled and it is set to 0. Obs gives me the warning once in a while but it does not give it to me every time. More in depth of it, it looks as if it is going slow motion and it also just frame skips.

Go to Settings > Video and change your base resolution to 1280x720. Your Elgato isn't outputting 1920x1080 and your CPU appears to be having trouble encoding at that resolution anyway.

You may still need to downscale a bit. Your CPU isn't the strongest for HD streams.
