Question / Help ElGato HD60 Pro Stuttering

I'm having the same issues here with the HD60 Pro. Have tried the standard 32bit and 64bit versions of OBS as well as multiplatform and the issue is constant across them all. I have also made sure custom resolution is unchecked and audio output for source for set to output to stream only.

Something maybe to note - whilst previewing stream, I can click "Configure" in my source properties to bring up the Elgato config panel and change options there from 720p 30fps to 1080/60 and immediately upon doing that, the stutter is gone in preview but once I confirm changes and close property windows, changes revert and the stutter returns.
even if its the same resolution, its still the same story. just uncheck custom resolution or rebuild the video capture device from scratch and leave things default.

Could you post a screenshot of your property page for the HD60 Pro please.

A log file would also be handy.

Ok, please do this:
Set the custom resolution to 1080p, and 60fps
Check the box that says "Use buffering" and enter 1 in the box next to it.

Can you also take a screenshot of you configure panel please. (Preview in OBS needs to be active to open the config panel)

Ok, and how about some log files? Please take a look at my previous posts and upload the file to a reputable site like Box, Dropbox, Google Drive, etc.
Here's a log file for you to dip into @LtRoyalShrimp, I am literally stripping down my settings to see if I can get it to stop. I was planning to stream in roughly 30 minutes but I am thinking about postponing because this looks terrible. I am out of options. Also if you'd like to personally talk to me I can give you my cell phone in a private message. Thanks for your assistance.

I see that your HD60 Pro is set to output 720p. This will cause stuttering.

Please look at this guide: https://obsproject.com/forum/resources/how-to-optimize-the-hd60-pro-in-obs.283/

Okay, so I was looking at this forum to help me with issues I had with the ElGato HD 60 PRO. It was having major lag issues when I was previewing the game play from OBS and for some reason OBS was KEEPING my game play at 720p60. I didn't want to stream at 720, I want to stream at 1080, otherwise I wouldn't spend $200 dollars on a cap card when I oculd have spent $100. So I used the custom resolution and it FIXED the stuttering issues. I was looking at this forum and I kept seeing "DON'T USE CUSTOM RESO" so I didn't. I got so fed up that I just tried the custom resolution for the hell of it AND IT WORKED. I no longer get ANY kind of stuttering on my obs. So is there a reason why you guys say to not use custom reso? I spent hours trying to figure this out and was about to toss my computer out of a window. lol

In very rare cases using custom res and selecting 1080p can help. You may have selected 720p in the HD60 Pro config panel.

Glad you got it working. :)

So, in 2 PC set up, I would normally be listening to game sounds via default sound through a set of headphones. If I set it to "To Stream Only", how would i go about being able to hear my game sounds?

I also have a 2 PC setup. No matter what I do, I can't stream at 60 fps. I can at 30 fps, but the investment I made to get this cap card, I expected 60 fps out of the gate.

I have followed every guide linked on this thread, step for step. Some parts aren't available (i.e. Buffer option only says to enable in studio, no numerical value).

Can anyone help?

have you updated your chipset and USB 3.0 drivers from your motherboard manufacturer's website? this are usually the best drivers given they have windows 10 drivers for use.

Try a different USB 3.0 port. you didn't provide details on your system specs or logfile when you tried 60fps but are we talking 1080@60fps or 720@60fps?
