Yo guys!

I'm trying to stream to Twitch and it's ok, but I don't like it being ugly looking, so I need to bump up my upload rate etc.

I currently have 2.80Mbps upload speed.. (3mbps generally).

When I launch a VPN and connect it to the UK, I get 80mbps down and 45mbps up .. Im trying to stream with over 4000kbps .. and it's like.. disconnecting, ... freezing, etc.. not so stable.

Is there a reason? Man, my UP speed is higher with a VPN than regular internet. What can I do?

You can get perfectly fine looking 720p/30fps streams with 2500 bitrate which your non-VPN'd service is capable of. Have you tried that to see if the incompatibility is with your VPN service?

*edit*
Oh, and as far as I know the limit for non-partnered streams is 3500 bitrate. Why are you trying to go higher?

I'll give you an example chain:
Computer (1Gb)->Home Router (100Mb)->Cable Modem (100Mb)-> Actual Internet upload speed (15Mb)->Unpartnered Twitch Streamer (3.5Mb): My max upload to Twitch will be 3.5Mb

Your chain: Internet Speed (3Mb)->VPN (45Mb)->Twitch... And by using VPN you are also adding several additional layers (that might be across trans-atlantic/inter-country lines... which tend to VERY slow/unreliable, esp. as to consistent latency), potentially greatly increasing latency, and making your connection to their servers much more complicated...

That complication enables more failure points... and failure in this case isn't a loss of connection, it's your next packet not arriving quickly enough for a person watch to see it without waiting. Real time streaming protocols (like RTMP, which twitch and OBS use) are much more sensitive to this then simple HTTP downloads/benchmarks.

Also unless you're a Twitch Partner going over 3500Kb/s is against the rules...

Also, if you have a strong CPU you can up your encoding preset to improve video quality. It's not all about raw bitrate.

Alright @c3r1c3 ! Gotcha mate.

@1ManRaid - Really? To London or Frankfurt I'm getting:

London: http://www.speedtest.net/result/3966879435.png

tbh.. Im trying 720p 30fps or 60fps .. but there are alot of pixel ugly motion in my stream.. dunno how to get rid out that :(

Also, won't 2500kbps, and the game would choke my upload speed? and probably download too if I play games? aka. I will lag and stuff....
hm?

And I have 4.20Ghz i5 3570k Processor... guess it's ok.

but a not so well GPU tho.. GTX 560 Ti :/

What else would you be using your upload speed for when you're streaming? You're getting about 2900 upload without the VPN, so streaming at 2500 should be fine. I have no idea why you'd think that would have any affect on your 90Mb download connection tho...

But yeah, new video card would help in some regards.

mhm..

cuz when I maximize my up speed like 2500 .. I lag and the stream itself freezes and buffers for my friend. dunno.

Maybe.. I meant it freezes for me sometimes when the kbps is higher like 2500 .. and when there is high motion there are pixels .. hard to see :/ .. (cuz of 60fps ... I guess, dunno.. need to recheck that eh...)

and my friend yeah.. I guess he has some internet issues.. dunno...

and my specs are:

GTX 560 Ti
i5 3570k 4.20Ghz overclocked
16GB RAM 1600Mhz G.SKILL
Windows 8.1 64bit pro
