Question / Help Echo

So after messing around with Virtual Audio to try to get my skype chat out of the OBS stream, i gave up. So i uninstalled VA, and put everything back to their original settings. Now when i stream there is a HORRIBLE echo when someone speaks on Skype. I know that they will hear themselves on the stream once they talk on skype, but the echo keeps on going and going. Muting OBS on the volume mixer removes the echo, but it mutes the whole stream. I'm not sure why OBS on the volume mixer controls the whole stream, i could be streaming a video and once i mute OBS on the volume mixer, the stream goes mute, but i still hear the audio on my headphones. I've streamed before, and i've had no problems, but once i fiddled with VA, everything went to shit. Now i have to lower the skype volume to stream without an echo.
Help?

Are you watching your stream while streaming? OBS captures desktop audio, if you watch your stream while streaming, it will pick up your stream audio, causing that echo.

I don't have the stream open while streaming. Not sure why muting the OBS on volume mixer mutes the WHOLE stream. I've never had this problem before.

Go through all your audio devices, under recording make sure none of them uses the listen to function. Then check skype and OBS that the correct audio devices is selected. And that should be it.
If nothing helps, backup your %Appdata%/OBS folder and start with a fresh OBS to see if it was a wrong configuration.

All my recording devices has the listen function disabled, I haven't fiddled with the Skype or OBS audio playback devices. Going to try and re-install, but this will be my second time re-installing

I re installed it and it keeps on happening, a skype echo in the stream. Not sure what the problem is, all my devices have the listen function disabled.
