Any chance you could make this work on Mac? I am running into the ticker length bug and really need a better solution. Thanks.
 
doesn't read *.txt with utf-8 format. can you please fix that?
 
Hi there, this is a great and simple banner thank you. is it possible to make it read a shared text document i.e. google sheets? When streaming, there are a number of commentators and would be great if each one could update the banner text live.

Well, program is very cool - what I was seeking after. BUT! I faced problem:
If I choose screen capture - it works perfectly, but there is window frame present.
If I choose to capture the window (in OBS) it displays only static animation picture or nothing, if to choose 00.
I use OBS 26/1/1 (64 bit).
Is it bug, or I missed something?
My PC is on Windows 7x64

Please advise...

For folks facing this issue, we figured out that it was when we set the first two chars of the marquee.txt file to 00. One solution is to use a program that can save .png files (powerpoint does nicely) to create a little black square and save it as alert-03.png, then change the first two characters of your marquee.txt to "03" - that worked for us.

I am working on a replacement using a different programming language; the only problem is time... not got enough at the mo.

Also working on a game score program which seems to be working pretty well... a lot more customisable :-)

Will try and get it sorted in the next month or two :-(

YES, I'm going through exactly the same thing with you. But why doesn't DrAlbany seem to help my friends on this forum? Almost everyone complained about this tool.
 
Sorry, for your disappointment, but it's down to me being busy and not receiving notification when someone leaves a message.

And I am trying to build a replacement with better functionality, but lack of time is the problem.
 
Is this true for each line? or is there something wrong?

I've just tested it again and it works for me... what graphics card are you using?

Regarding the windows frame, have you thought about cropping the image?

I didn't do any cropping, just centered the window. That's all.
no GPU card just Shared, not RTX or GTX
 
Yes, I put spaces in to give the words some breathing space.


You can use the following keys to modify the speed and size of the text


Up arrow - increase font size
down-arrow - decrease font size
left arrow - increase scroll speed
right arrow - decrease scroll speed
d - toggle debug info on / off
r - reload saved settings
s - save current settings
l - reload the text file
