I am currently experiencing an issue with dropping frames while streaming with OBS. I am not sure if I am experiencing his issue because of my internet connection or my OBS settings or my computer.
Here are my current settings and setup:
I have a wired connection with an internet speed of 100Mbps Down and 50Mbps Up. I am trying to stream at 720p60fps at least because anything lower looks terrible in my opinion. I currently live in South Africa and I am streaming to twitch.tv.
The dropping frames issue appears with both NVENC H.264 and x264 encoders.
I have tried the following things in order to fix this issue.
Lowering the In-Game quality settings.
Lowering the bit rate. (This made little to no difference.)
Lowering the resolution. (Although this did fix the problem at a resolution of 1152x648 I feel that I can definitely get more quality with my current pc and internet connection.)
Closing almost every process running in the background of my PC.
Rebooted PC multiple times
Reinstalled OBS
Made sure nothing else was using my network.
Using StreamLabs OBS rather than the regular OBS Studio.
Even after trying all of things I still experienced dropping frames of about 5%-30% with NVENC H.264 and 40%-60% with x264.
This makes no sense to me at all especially since the x264 encoder is performing worse than the NVENC encoder even though my CPU is much better than my GPU.
My PC Specs:
•Processor - Intel i7 7700k
•CPU Cooler - Coolermaster Hyper 212 EVO
•Graphics Card - NVIDIA Geforce GTX 750 Ti 2GB
•Ram - Corsair Vengence DDR4 3200Mhz 2x8GB
•Motherboard - Aorus Z270X-Gaming 7
•Power Supply - Thermaltake Litepower 550
•Operating System - Windows 10 Pro
There will be images attached showing my current OBS settings and my internet connection speed.
If you need any more information just let me know I will try my best to provide it.
Thanks in Advance
