DroidCam OBS Camera

DroidCam OBS Camera 2.5.0

Unfortunately yes, the reason for this unknown and makes no sense. Generally it's Samsung devices that do this. Google Pixel, OnePlus, and Motorola should be safest options.

Hey, i have now a Google Pixel 8, the image is perfect. But the sound is cracking regulary. I'v try all the settings, and the sound is still crakling regulary. Any idea ?

Unfortunately streaming audio perfectly with a low delay is very difficult. It's highly recommended to keep DroidCam for video-only, and use an actual microphone for audio.

You can try to fix the crackling by unchecking the "Unbuffered Output" option in your DroidCam source and then adding a delay to the source. See the "Audio choppy" entry at https://droidcam.app/obs/usage/#faq

Will 4k60fps return with a later update? Atleast with 2.5.1 the option is gone for HVEC for me and it always defaults to 30 with 4k. (iphone 17 promax & iphone 15 pro )

The FPS is determined on the phone side, that should remain unchanged between 2.5.0->.1.
Could you double check that you're using the back camera and the 60fps option is selected in the phone app settings? Does it do 60fps at 1440p?

i apologize. it is working now. i was still using a "wonky" version of obs that i got as part of twitch's private 2k & 4k beta, and the plugin didnt liked that version at all, couldnt get it to upgrade / install, so it defaulted back to an old one. Now with the regular newst obs, it works fine again, and no more hw-decoding error as i reported earlier last month! Thank you for your hard work!

Hey, i try using Droid Cam with an Iphone. Works very well for the video ! My problem, it take the sound from de internal MIC. And when the app is on, impssible to acces the Dropdown menu to choose the good audio entry..... any idea ? (PS : when i use this mic with the default recording app, it is working with the good mic...) But in Droid Cam, stil using internal Audio........ help......

Oh, ok, new problem ! Now, the sound from the mic is ok. But sometimes it is mono (and i don't have any problem on mono.) And when i restart my OBS and droid cam, without any reason, the source audio is stereo. And the nightmare begin. The audio is crakling like hell. How is it possible, with the same setup, to have sometimes everything working with mono, and sometimes, all is bugged with stereo... how ?

Any comments on the extended post I created last month about the white balance thing?

And do you also have problems with Samsung phones running EXTREMELY hot when using droidcam?

Audio capture on iPhone is tricky and the app grabs whatever is the default. Normally its very consistent (eg. 44hKhz mono) but if you adjust your audio options or connect / disconnect external mics it might change. Unfortunately there aren't any configurable options for this in the app as of now, and using the internal mic is the safest option.

White balance controls on Android are unfortunately limited. There are some new APIs in Android 16 but it turns out support for this is not very broad yet.. hopefully newer phones will support this and we'll finally get proper temp/tint options.

The phone should not get super hot, but if you're streaming 4K (and especially 4k60), then yes, its possible. I would recommend lowering the video options, dimming the phone screen, and using droidcam at 100% charge while plugged in.

It won't load for me on both my Linux machines, it gives me a red error on my PC,

OBS Version: 32.2.2-1.1 (From Arch Linux's repo on CachyOS)
DroidCam Version: 2.5.1 (Downloaded the linux zip file form the github repo)
