DroidCam OBS Camera

DroidCam OBS Camera 2.4.2

@GameingGreg - it looks like you are trying to connect an iPhone using USB? There have been a few intermitted reports similar to this as of v2.4.0; can you try the following

* Exit OBS and remove the DroidCam plugin (using Programs & Features in Windows)
* Download and install v2.3.4 of DroidCam, and make sure 'iOS USB Support' is checked
* Install v2.4.1 on top of 2.3.4, but make sure 'iOS USB Support' is NOT checked

Please send your results to support@dev47apps.com, lets not clutter this thread with internal comments

Hi can you confirm if the iOS version should have image stabilisation? I use DroidCam by strapping it to my head & streaming creative projects, but there's tiny micro-shakes that I'm not sure existed before I upgraded to iPhone 17 Pro.
I read online that I could configure image stabilisation within the iPhone OS settings - but I've clicked everything you'd expect to work and can't seem to change how shaky the DroidCam footage is.

Also, while giving feedback - the front-facing selfie cam has the same name as the ultra-wide camera in the DroidCam app.

(I only use the App with the OBS Plugin)

Thanks!
James

Hi, DroidCam does not incorporate or try use any image stabilization options (these are sparsely supported and can negatively affect latency). The recommended approach is use a simple phone gimbal.

Noted on the feedback, will review.

Only one the best way to use droid cam in 60FPS and USB is install 3utools and install drivers.
Next is in obs refresh devices and select USB iphone. Works perfect with no lag in 60 FPS.

And i have questioins...why droidcam obs dont have 120 FPS like ivcam?

I'm loving DroidCam, but there's one thing I very much want to do but can't. With the phone vertical and the OBS source rotated, the FaceTracker plugin won't work, as it only detects faces when oriented vertically. Is there any way to set DroidCam up for vertical use within its software?

@kris0725pl - I will make a note to add that option into the Settings (assuming no other implementation complications).

@RocksInMyDryer - Unfortunately there isn't a built in way to rotate the incoming image data. As-is, I think you would need to pipe the video through the DroidCam Client (apply rotation there, then load it as a Video Capture Device in OBS).

Using an iPhone 15 pro over usb, connecting to windows, running the virtual camera in OBS.

Currently, every time I plug the iPhone in, I have to:
- Open DroidCam input Properties
- `Deactivate`
- `Refresh Device List`
- Select `iPhone [USB]`
- Activate
- Close Properties

Best guess right now is that I need a python script that uses `obs-cli`. Worried that the reason I have to reset the usb connection in the first place is because the iPhone gets a new id every time I connect it :pain:

Hi, I have been using Droidcam with my iPhone 13 via USB and when Droidcam is the only 'webcam' working perfectly.

My problem is that when I use Droidcam in conjunction with any other webcam on OBS, my PC hard crashes within seconds (everything freezes) and I have to resort to hitting the power button on my PC. Has this happen to anyone else?

I've been looking for answers but can't seem to find a solution anywhere.

PS. Forgot to add I'm on PC / Win11

May be a GPU conflict issue (i.e. Nvidia conflicting with Intel). If I were you, I would gather OBS logs (or crash logs), Windows crash dumps (if getting BSOD) and attach them into a Grok chat with a summary of the issues. I was having OBS crashes because of GPU conflicts (not necessarily linked to DroidCam) and Grok coached me through several steps to fix. Now things are running smoothly. I don't mean to be vague. It's just that In my case, it was a multi-step process (adjusting Windows, Nvidia and OBS settings) so difficult to remember everything I ended up tweaking. Hope this gets you on the path to success.

To add to the above comment, you can try ticking 'Allow HW acceleration' Off in your DroidCam source, or switching to MJPEG entirely to see if things are more stable.

thanks for the help!
just gave it a quick test, and turning 'Allow HW acceleration' seems to do the trick for now, I'll run some more tests and will try and log everything if it fails again

welp just as I was done typing that, crashes happened again, but it seems like it is with droidcam along with my logitech C920 webcam.. but disabling droidcam will avoid crashes for now. I will try more different testing.

OBS is not recording any crash reports (because my entire pc crashes?). will OBS log files be any help?
