Same. After about 1-5 mins it freezes. I have an M4 Mac mini

Display capture freezes on OBS 28.1.2 with macOS 13.0. This issue affects screen recording. To fix or test improvements, download FF beta testing version for updated compatibility and performance fixes.

Solved. I wrote a script to automatically detect the frozen resource and restart capture: https://github.com/yayuanli/OBS_Restart_Capture_Stuck_Source
Here's a Mac fix for video and audio I found buried in the thread, so thanks to whoever posted this initially.
Run the Deprecated sources instead of the normal captures.
Sources > Deprecated > Window Capture for your screen.
You will also need to use this for your audio. The deprecated window capture on its own doesn't provide any sound, so you'll need to pull audio from your desktop / Audio Output.
Download Blackhole (https://blackhole.macupdate.com/) which will allow you to create a Multi-Output Device. Once you've installed and set it up, you'll set the Audio Output on your Mac to "Multi-Output Device." Go back to Sources > Deprecated > Audio Output, add it to your source list, and set it to "Blackhole 2ch." You'll need to adjust the volume manually for each application instead of through the OBS mixer, but I haven't had any source freezing since doing it this way.

question to all - are you connecting your 4k x directly into your mac, or through a hub?
I'm getting the exact same issue, and of course the first few question the trouble shooting of Elgato, or the hub manufacturer asks is can you bypass the hub, or go direct into the Mac.
I'm using a CalDigit T4, and I'm now going to test the capture card using Meld to see if this is an OBS specific issue.
I'd like to know if anyone has a solution to this issue that doesn't involved running scripts, and also the method posted here doesn't work for me - I've tried legacy, I've tried capture card device, and just standard video capture device.
In fact because I'm plugin and un-plugin the hub with the 4k x into my MacBook, using capture card device works best for remembering the source when I plug everything back in, as where the others forget, and each time I need to set the source to default and re-selet the card.
