Question / Help CPU Usage

Hello,

I have been searching through the forums as well as online for several weeks now. I've gotten to a point where I can't figure it out. I've been forced to make an account and bother you all now.

Computer Specifications:
OS: W10 Pro
Motherboard: Asus Maximus VII Hero LGA 1150
CPU: i7-4790k
Memory: 16GB (2x8GB) 1866MHz
Hard Drive: 3TB Western Digital Black
Video Card: NVIDIA GeForce GTX 980Ti SC ACX2
SSD's: 840 EVO & 850 Pro

Whenever I use OBS to preview OR stream my Xbox One gameplay (through my Elgato HD60 Pro Internal Capture Card) I result in 100% CPU usage. This is while even trying to stream at reduced rates. Currently it's set to 720(60fps) with 2500 Bitrate.

Could someone please walk me through what I'm doing wrong? I can use TeamViewer if necessary. .

Anyone able to provide any feedback? Was my log file inadequate? Is there something I can do to help the individuals who may be assisting me?

Try reducing the webcam resolution to something reasonable.
That's something I would have never thought of. Is the webcam really capable of doing that much damage? I assumed by me reducing the size to a very small corner of the screen it'd be essentially downscaling it. I'm guessing my assumption is wrong?

What would you recommend as a reasonable resolution? (I will try this immediately after work)

720p is recommended at the most. but ideally, no greater than your downscale especially if you are only showing it in a small portion of the display.

Are you able to tell what I was using? I can't really make sense of the log file, and I'm currently at work so I can't check. Do you think that this could be the reason I am hitting 100% CPU usage even while previewing my stream, and not actually streaming?

to be honest, I cannot view pastebin from here so no, I have yet to see your logfile but since Osiris checked it, that could be what at least part of the issue is.

Same boat; pastebin is frowned upon apparently on our network. (Anonymous and Government don't jive well). I'll definitely try his solution when I get home. Only 4 more hours to go...

So I reduced my webcam quality to 720 instead of 1080 and I noticed a huge difference. My CPU usage went down to 50-60% however, if I open any tabs or do anything on the web in Chrome, the CPU hits 99%. I've heard using Internet Explorer is my best move. Any other suggestions or is this just about all I can do?

Also in peak fire fights it hits 99% but it doesn't lag.
In the future, post your log like this:

Anyway, glad that helped. the more movement, scene complexity, color contrast difference, the more the encoder has to work to make
