Question / Help Choppy Tearing When Streaming

Hi, I'm new here, so forgive me if there are solutions on this topic here. I've been searching for hours on ways to fix my problem and I can't figure out what exactly it is, that I need to fix. My issue is when I'm previewing my stream through OBS, and I have music playing in the background, I can hear the sound popping, and playing what sounds like slower motion than it should be. On top of that, when I shake one of my windows around on the desktop I get massive tearing that I don't normally get when my OBS isn't running. I'm guessing it has to do with my resolution, fps, or encoding. Not sure which, and I don't know where to start. Oh, my fps doesn't change. Help?

Well, one thing that will record rather choppy and have that tearing is if you choose to use "Monitor Capture" as a surce. Least I tend to have issues if I remember right.

Post here what settings, "sources", etc. and might be able to help you out more.

I use monitor capture and a video capture device. I thought it was monitor capture to stream games, like league of legends... is that wrong? What should I use instead?

You can use game capture for pretty much any game. For League of Legends I suggest to also setup a Scene Switcher (downloaded from OBS projects). Pretty easy to set up, and it switches between the different client windows of LoL.

But as jdm12983 said before, post your settings, sources, pretty much everything from your stream and we'll be able to help more.
