last stream i had the audio working, it played through my headphones from the capture card 3.0 usb bus,
today i open obs and there is no audio from the capture card , still sends video but no audio
i followed this tutorial to make the audio work last time- and no settings have changed ( https://youtu.be/IoBEoBw9h5g?t=56 )

the only thing that changed was windows updated itself when i booted up my pc this morning (i shut down my pc when not using it)

last log- https://obsproject.com/logs/EiH7Oq6MNVghI2Oy

A different thread noticed about 30 minutes ago that their permissions had been reset in Windows' settings. I've seen Windows updates wipe out settings before, even if the exact same setting still existed afterward. You might check that.

And do whatever you have to, to always update when you're NOT about to do something important, and never when you are. On the Windows rigs that I manage, I have it set to not update on a metered network, and then ALL of its known networks are set as metered, even if they're really not. Then I manually update on MY schedule, which is also important to do.

i tried this and the audio played through my monitor, picked up by the mic and looped on itself- and almost blew my ears out

still have no audio from capture card- im looking at the db layout not even a tick from -60db to 0db

If you use my trick, it won't do that, but then you DO have to update manually to avoid getting hacked. But it does allow you to do it on YOUR schedule and not Micro$haft's.

Classic feedback! Happens anytime you have a complete loop in your signal path. If you have trouble imagining - even the pros do this for the more complicated rigs - draw it out. Which feeds what, and where does it go from there? Mics and speakers are not endpoints, because the air connects them. That can complete a loop too.

If you have your permissions right and everything else works, then that's a different problem. The log should be less cluttered now, if it *was* a permissions problem, so maybe post another one? Might also be good to have a screenshot of the settings for that audio source.

Are you sure you got the right set of permissions?

Does the capture card also appear as a standalone sound card? Some do, and that different path might be all you need. Mute the video soundtrack, and bring in the same thing as a separate audio source.
